Entering Deep Earth

I finished the studio...
The walls are ready. The tools are in place. The light falls exactly where it should... yet the work itself hasn’t begun. Right now I’m standing in that quiet space between preparing the foundation and the moment before the first creation.
This is where my next body of work begins...I’m calling it Deep Earth.
It’s a collection rooted in geology, water, inner landscapes, and the unseen layers that nourish life beneath the surface. But more than a theme, it feels like an invitation...to go deeper, both artistically and personally.
Because for me, Deep Earth isn’t just art, it’s entering a deeper layer of myself.
Before the first line is drawn, before the yarn is chosen, before the tufting gun ever touches the cloth, there’s an understanding that has to happen...a quiet connection beneath surface ideas and a deeper meaning for the creation itself.
Nature doesn’t rush the forming of stone. Water doesn’t hurry its path underground. The richest layers take time to gather. So this in-between space is for listening to what wants to be heard, and for building the foundation of an unfolding body of work that may become some of my deepest work yet.
Finishing the studio wasn’t the end of something, it was preparing the ground for what comes next.
Soon, the first Deep Earth piece will begin, but for now, I’m letting the work arrive without force.
Sometimes the truest beginning is simply the moment you step into the deep.
Remember...Deep calls to deep.
